Dickey Betts, the renowned guitarist and co-founder of the legendary rock group the Allman Brothers Band, has passed away at his home in Osprey, Florida. He was 74 years old.
Known for his fiery guitar licks that traded with the iconic Duane Allman, Betts was a driving force behind the band's signature sound and the writer of their biggest hit, "Ramblin' Man."
Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, Betts first picked up the guitar at a young age and honed his skills in local honky-tonk bars. In 1969, he joined the Allman Brothers Band, a group that quickly rose to prominence with their blend of blues, rock, and Southern rock.
